LIVEssaouira does not offer to create an account. A sign-in screen exists, but it is reserved for the LIVEssaouira administration — the people who keep the place records.

No name, no email address and no password is asked of you to use the app.

An administration account does save its favourites with that account. That is the only case where favourites leave the device, and it concerns no visitor.

Your favourite places and events are stored in your device's local storage, along with enough of their record to read them again offline.

They are sent to no server. Nobody but you sees them, not even the publisher.

They disappear the day you clear LIVEssaouira's data: by deleting the app, or by clearing the site's data if you are reading it in a browser.

LIVEssaouira places one cookie, and only one: it remembers the language you read the app in, so that it does not have to ask you again every time you open it.

It is called “livessaouira-langue” and it holds a single word: “fr” or “en”. Nothing else. No identifier, no number, nothing that points to you.

It lasts 400 days, it is only ever sent to LIVEssaouira, and it is HttpOnly: no script on the page can read it, not even ours.

It is a functional cookie, not a measurement or an advertising one — which is why it calls for no consent banner. It goes when you clear LIVEssaouira's data; the app will simply ask for your language again.

The map can show your position. It never asks for it on its own: you have to tap “Locate me”.

Your position is used for two things, both computed on your device: placing your dot on the map, and showing the distance to a place. It is stored nowhere and sent to no server.

While you leave it on, the map follows your position to keep it accurate. It stops as soon as you turn location off or leave the map, and nothing is kept.

LIVEssaouira counts its visits with Umami Cloud.

This measurement places no cookie and records nothing that identifies you. That is why there is no consent banner: there is nothing to ask you.

What it keeps: which screens were viewed, the language, and where the app was opened from — app store, home screen or browser.

These measurements are kept for six months.

What it is for: knowing which screens are genuinely useful, and being able to show the places of Essaouira real traffic — in numbers, never in people.

Screens are served by Vercel; the information about places and events comes from Supabase. Like any server, they receive your device's IP address: that is what lets them answer you.

Neither of them receives an account, a favourite or a position of yours.

Calling a place, opening directions, visiting its website or its social media account takes you out of LIVEssaouira. From there, the service you open decides what it records: its rules apply, not these.

The answer will be short, and that is rather good news: there is no account to look up and no profile to erase. The only cookie remembers your language, and you clear it yourself along with your favourites, by clearing LIVEssaouira's data.

LIVEssaouira shows no advertising, offers no in-app purchase, and sells or rents no data to anyone.
